If the language is your native tongue, you don’t have to. Just watch the children around you. Children begin to speak fluently before they even know the word “grammar.” We have the knack to pick up the use of a language that is used around us. I am a native Chinese speaker in Hong Kong. I don’t think I have ever been taught Chinese grammar systematically in the schooling system here.
